Questions for you Dr:
We are in the unfortunate position where my 15 month old twins were prescribed antibiotics before a strep test...they came back negative. We are about 1/2 way through our perscription (day 5). Should we stop taking them? I understand that if you have an infection and you stop part way through, you have only killed off the weaker bacteria and let the stronger ones survive (leading to resistant strains). What happens when you don't have an infection and you stop taking antibiotics? I was hoping we could spare the good bacteria (flora) in their guts by stopping. What do you recommend?
